Modifying storage resources

If needed, you can modify any resource (pool) defined on a storage system.

About this task

Storage resources can be renamed and resized to match the requirements of the connected services.

Note: Pool resizing does not function for parent or DS8000® pools.

Procedure

On the Storage Systems pane, right-click a pool which you intend to edit and select Modify to edit the pool settings or Unlink to unlink replicated pools.
The Edit Resource dialog box is displayed.

Configure the following:

In the Name text box, enter the new name for the pool.
In the Size text box, enter the new size for the pool.
For replicated pools, select Replicate storage pool and size to copy the primary pool name and size to the secondary pool in the mirroring relationship.

Click Modify to save the change.

Note: You can also access the Resource Settings dialog box by selecting a storage resource row in the System Storage Resource or Service Storage Resource table. Refer to Defining and attaching storage resources for details.
