Note: Another way to rescue a node is to force a node rescue when the node boots. It is the preferred method. Forcing a node rescue when a node boots works by booting the operating system from the service controller and running a program that copies all the IBM Spectrum Virtualize™ software from any other node that can be found on the Fibre Channel fabric.
