Sharing the HP MA or EMA between a host and a IBM Spectrum Virtualize
Restrictions apply when HP MA and EMA storage systems are shared between a host and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize™ clustered system.
An HP MA or EMA can be shared between a host and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize system under the following conditions:
- A host cannot be connected to both the IBM Spectrum Virtualize system and an HP MA or EMA storage system at the same time.
- Target ports cannot be shared between a host and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize system. Specifically, if an HSG80 port is in use by the IBM Spectrum Virtualize system, it cannot be present in a switch zone that enables a host to access the port.
- LUs and arrays cannot be shared between a host and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize system.
