Multipathing configuration maximums for hosts that are running the Linux operating system
When you configure, keep in mind the maximum configuration for the subsystem device driver (SDD) on Intel-based hosts that run the Linux operating system.
Table 1 provides the maximum volumes
and paths per volume for SDD on the Linux operating system.
| Object | Maximum | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Volumes | 512 (for 2.6 kernel operating systems) 256 (for 2.4 kernel operating systems) |
The maximum number of volumes that can be supported by the Linux operating system (per host per clustered system). |
| Paths per volume | 4 | The maximum number of paths to each volume. |
