Removing the drive backplane

You might need to remove the drive backplane on a IBM Spectrum Virtualize™ node.

Before you begin

The type of backplane varies for each IBM Spectrum Virtualize node.

A SATA drive backplane is installed in a SAN Volume Controller 2145-SV1 node.
A disk-drive backplane backplane is installed on a SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8, 2145-CG8, and 2145-CF8 node.
