Node rescue request
If software is lost, you can use the node rescue process to copy all software from another node.
The node-rescue-request display, which is shown in Figure 1, indicates that a request has been made to replace the software on this node. The IBM Spectrum Virtualize™ software is preinstalled on all IBM Spectrum Virtualize nodes. This software includes the operating system, the application software, and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize publications. It is normally not necessary to replace the software on a node, but if the software is lost for some reason (for example, the hard disk drive in the node fails), it is possible to copy all the software from another node that is connected to the same Fibre Channel fabric. This process is known as node rescue.
