To turn on the power, press and release the power button. You must have a pointed device, such as a pen, to press the button.

To turn off the power, press and release the power button. For more information about how to turn off the IBM Spectrum Virtualize node, see MAP 5350: Powering off a IBM Spectrum Virtualize node.

Attention: When the node is operational and you press and immediately release the power button, the IBM Spectrum Virtualize writes its control data to its internal disk and then turns off. This can take up to five minutes. If you press the power button but do not release it, the node turns off immediately without the IBM Spectrum Virtualize control data being written to disk. Service actions are then required to make the IBM Spectrum Virtualize operational again. Therefore, during a power-off operation, do not press and hold the power button for more than two seconds.
Note: The 2145 UPS-1U does not turn off when the IBM Spectrum Virtualize is shut down from the power button.
