After all the other nodes are updated on the system,
you can update the configuration node.
Procedure
To update the configuration node, follow these steps:
- Ensure that all hosts have all paths available to volumes
that are mapped to those hosts. If not, wait up to 30 minutes and
repeat this check. If some paths are still unavailable, investigate
and resolve these connection problems before you continue the system code update.
-
Record the name of the configuration node before
you upgrade it on the system. To view the node name in the management GUI, select .
- In the management GUI, check that there are
no incomplete volume synchronization tasks in progress. Click Running
Tasks.
- Remove the configuration node from the system. In the management GUI, select . Right-click the node and select Remove.
Note: When the configuration node is removed from the system,
any SSH connection to the system closes, and the management GUI is unavailable briefly.
- Use the management GUI to add the
configuration node that you removed previously back to the system. The node is then updated before
it joins the system and it remains in the adding state for some
time.
- After the configuration node is updated and added back to the system,
rename all nodes, including the configuration node, to the names that they had before they were
removed and updated. In the management GUI, select . Select each node that was added and select Rename. Enter the
old name and click Rename.
