Installing the HBA on a host that is running a Microsoft Hyper-V operating system

Before you can attach the host that is running the Microsoft Hyper-V operating system, you must install the host bus adapter (HBA).

Before you install the HBA, ensure that the system supports it. See the supported hardware list at the following IBM® website if you must verify that the HBA is supported:

To install the HBA, use the following general steps:

Procedure

  1. Shut down your host and its attached peripheral devices, following the recommendations of the manufacturer.
  2. Install the HBA, referring to the adapter installation instructions of the manufacturer.
