510 The detected memory size does not match the expected memory size.

Explanation

The amount of memory that is detected in the node or node canister differs from the amount that is required for the node or canister to operate as an active system member. This error can be caused by a missing or failed DIMM. The logged event includes the following data:

  • Total detected memory in the node or canister in MB.
  • Total expected memory for the node or canister in MB.
  • Capacity of DIMM in slot 1 in GB.
  • Capacity of DIMM in slot 2 in GB.
  • ...
  • Capacity of DIMM in slot n in GB
The number of slots that are listed depends on the platform. A capacity of zero indicates that no DIMM is installed in the slot or that the DIMM failed.

User response

For IBM Spectrum Virtualize and IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud, contact your hardware manufacturer. For other platforms, follow the troubleshooting procedures to remove or replace a memory module. If the error cannot be resolved by replacing DIMMs, follow the troubleshooting procedures to replace node canister.
