Multipathing support for hosts that run the Windows Server operating system
Hosts that run the Microsoft Windows Server operating system require multipathing software.
The following website provides current interoperability information:
IBM System Storage Interoperation Center (SSIC)
There are two multipathing options for Windows Server operating systems:
- Microsoft Device Specific Module (MSDSM), which is the recommended multipathing driver. It is included in the Windows Server operating system.
- Subsystem Device Driver Device Specific Module (SDDDSM), which is the legacy IBM multipathing driver for older Windows Server operating systems.
The Microsoft Multipath I/O (MPIO) feature must also be enabled when using either MSDSM or SDDDSM.
