Version 3.4.0 (March 2018)

Starting from version 3.4.0, IBM Spectrum Control Base Edition has been renamed to IBM Spectrum Connect. This version provides the following enhancements:

  • Synchronous mirroring for Spectrum Accelerate storage systems
  • Local HyperSwap and data mirroring for Spectrum Virtualize storage systems
  • Host clustering for Spectrum Virtualize storage systems
  • Registering multiple Spectrum Connect instances on several vCenter servers
  • IBM Storage Enabler for Containers support by DS8000 Family products
  • IBM Storage Automation Plug-in for PowerShell support by FlashSystem A9000 and A9000R
  • CentOS 7.x and RHEL 6.9 support
  • Improved performance and stability

SCB-3631 Fixed: Memory-type VVols may fail to show in the VM Related Objects tab under IBM Storage VVols.
SCB-3751 Fixed: A FastClone procedure might fail on IBM® SAN Volume Controller storage systems, if the source and target VMs use different storage policies.
SCB-4146 Fixed: Combination of a storage resource on a Spectrum Accelerate Family system and a service with Availability capability set to Regular is not supported. This combination might cause an unstable behavior of Spectrum Connect.
SCB-4167 Fixed: When using IBM Storage Automation Plug-in for PowerShell, volume can be renamed only using volume resize procedure.
SCB-4380 Fixed: Spectrum Connect cannot recover VVol metadata if the metadata disparity occurs.
SCB-4640 Fixed: In the VMware vSphere 6.5 environment and later, generating server certificate requires both IP address and FQDN of the Spectrum Connect server.
SCB-5124 Fixed: IBM Storage Enabler for Containers fails, when attempting to create more than 50 PVCs.
SCB-5127 Fixed: Spectrum Connect with LDAP enabled cannot be registered as a storage provider on VMware vCenter server.
