VMware compatibility matrix

This page details supported combinations of IBM® storage system software versions supported by at least one version of IBM Spectrum® Connect and various VMware products.

Refer to the Spectrum Connect Lifecycle and support matrix to see which IBM storage system versions are supported by your version of Spectrum Connect.

The following table includes information about VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) which uses the IBM Spectrum Accelerate Family, IBM DS8000® Family, and Spectrum Virtualize Family Storage Replication Adapters (SRAs) to run site-to-site failovers together with supported IBM storage systems. Note that the SRM information does not apply to Spectrum Connect. For information about the VMware platforms that Spectrum Connect supports, refer to the Spectrum Connect release notes for the version of interest.

Note:

All VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) instances refer to Windows OS, unless indicated with an asterisk (*) next to a specific version number. These versions support both Windows and Photon OS.
Spectrum Virtualize Family SRA 3.5.0 and 3.6.0 are VMware certified to support SRM 8.5. VMware certification for SRA 3.7.0 and 3.7.1 is not yet available.

Support for FlashSystem 5010, 5030, 5100, 7200, and 9200 systems began in version 8.3.1.

Support for FlashSystem 5015, 5035, and 5200 systems began in version 8.4.0.1.

Support for FlashSystem 7300 and 9500 systems began in version 8.5.0.0.

Support for Storwize V3500 and, V3700, V5000 Gen1, and V7000 Gen1 systems ended in version 8.1.

Support for Storwize V5000E, V5100, and V7000 Gen3 systems began in version 8.2.1.

Support for Storwize V5010 and Storwize V5020 systems ended in version 8.2.1.

Support for Storwize V5030 and Storwize V5030F systems ended in version 8.3.1.

Storwize V7000 Gen2 and Storwize V7000 Gen2+ models are not supported in version 8.4.1 and later.
