Preparing the SRA environment
Before you install the IBM® Spectrum Virtualize Family SRA, you must prepare the storage environment.
- Verify that the supported storage system microcode version is used (for information, refer to the release notes).

Create appropriate-sized target volumes on the recovery (secondary) site Spectrum Virtualize Family. If you are using the IBM SAN Volume Controller, create
Metro/Global-Mirror relationships between the source and target volumes and add the relationships to
consistency groups, as needed. If you are using IBM SVC Stretched Cluster, create appropriate-sized
stretched volumes as needed. If you are running IBM HyperSwap, create appropriate-sized hyperswap
volumes as needed.

- Create a
user on the Spectrum Virtualize Family
with the appropriate privileges for the Spectrum Virtualize Family SRA. For SRA non-preconfigured settings, a user with
Administrator
or higher privilege is needed. For SRA preconfigured settings, a user withCopyOperator
or higher privilege is needed.Important: Use the same user name and password on both the protected (primary) and the recovery site.Note: SRA only supports non-preconfigured settings for IBM SVC Stretched Cluster and IBM HyperSwap.
