Accessing the system initialization wizard through the technician port

Use the technician port, which is available on the rear of each node canister in an enclosure, to access the system initialization wizard.

Use the technician port to access the initialization wizard for a control enclosure. Since the web-based initialization wizard is browser based, ensure that you are using a supported browser for the management GUI. For information on supported browsers, see the topic on supported browsers for the management GUI. To access the system initialization wizard through the technician port, use a laptop that supports Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain and IP address when connecting to the technician port. Verify that your laptop supports DHCP before connecting the laptop to the technician port. To access the system initialization wizard, complete these steps:
  1. Disconnect the laptop from all networks.
  2. Connect the laptop with an Ethernet cable to technician port that is located in the back of the system.
  3. Ensure that the laptop is assigned an IP address with DHCP.
  4. Open a supported browser and navigate to any website. The browser automatically redirects to the system initialization wizard.
