You can configure Microsoft
Windows Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) for Microsoft Windows system hosts.
Before you begin
Make sure that all servers are preconfigured with Windows Active Directory (AD) and Domain Name System (DNS).
About this task
You must have two Microsoft
Windows servers on which a Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) failover system is created. Make sure that the
MSCS host system is configured.
Configure the iSCSI initiator by completing the following steps.
Procedure
-
On the two system hosts, start the iSCSI initiator.
-
Select .
-
Click the iSCSI Initiator and click Yes to start
the iSCSI service.
-
On the iSCSI Initiator property window, click OK.
-
Create one volume on the system or identify an existing volume that needs to be used as a
cluster shared volume.
-
Create a host or host cluster object and add the iSCSI qualified names (IQNs) of the clustered
hosts.
-
Map the volume to the newly created host object or host cluster object by having IQNs of the
MSCS cluster.
-
Follow the steps in iSER target discovery for Windows hosts to complete iSER discovery of
the target nodes in I/O groups by hosting the volume that needs to be used as the cluster shared
volume.
-
Follow the steps in Connecting to discovered targets to establish an iSER
session to the discovered target nodes.
-
By using the information in Viewing and managing the discovered disks, identify the volume to
be used as the CSV.
-
Follow Microsoft
Windows documentation for assigning a newly discovered iSER
LUN as CSV on the MSCS cluster.
