Using a cross headed screwdriver, open both latches on the EMC shield, as shown in Figure 1
1. Turn the screw 1/2 turn anticlockwise (counterclockwise) to loosen the latch, but
do not remove the screw completely.
Slide the screw vertically in its slot to open the latch.
Gently tighten the screw to hold the latch open.
Repeat steps a through c to open the second latch.
Figure 1. Removing an EMC shield
Holding the shield by it's handle, remove it from the node.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to remove the other two EMC shields.
Replacing the EMC shields
Refer to Figure 1 to identify
the correct orientation of the EMC shield on the node.
Examine the two latches on the front of the EMC shield. If either latch is closed, use a
cross head screw driver to open the latch, as follows:
Turn the screw 1/2 turn anticlockwise to loosen the latch, but do not remove the screw
completely.
Slide the screw up in its slot to open the latch.
Gently tighten the screw to hold the latch open.
Insert an EMC shield into one of the three spaces at the front of the node, as shown in
Figure 1, so that each latch aligns
with its slot in the front of the node.
Using a cross headed screwdriver, close and secure both latches on the EMC shield.
Turn the screw 1/2 turn anticlockwise to loosen the latch. Do not remove the screw
completely.
Slide the screw down to the bottom of its slot so that the latch engages fully into
the front of the node.
Gently tighten the screw to secure the latch.
Repeat steps a through c to close and secure the second latch.
Repeat steps 5 - 8 so that all three EMC shields are installed in the front of the
node.
