Updating the hardware

You can update the system hardware by adding or replacing components.

Installing Fibre Channel or 10 Gbps iSCSI/FCoE ports
You can add Fibre Channel ports or 10 Gbps iSCSI/FCoE ports to a Storwize V7000 Gen2 control enclosure by installing host interface adapters.
Installing 25 Gbps Ethernet ports
You can add 2-port 25 Gbps Ethernet host interface adapters to a Storwize V7000 Gen2+ control enclosure by installing optional RoCE or iWarp network adapters.
Installing extra memory and compression accelerator options in Storwize V7000 Gen2 and Storwize V7000 Gen2+ node canisters
You can update Storwize V7000 Gen2 and Storwize V7000 Gen2+ node canisters by installing additional memory (increasing the total from 32 GB to 64 GB or 128 GB per node canister) and compression accelerator options.
