Explanation
A Fibre Channel adapter has a PCI error. On Storwize® V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, the adapter is on the node
canister system board.
This node error does not, in itself, stop the node or node canister from becoming active in the
system. However, the Fibre Channel network might be being used to communicate between the nodes or
node canisters in a clustered system. Therefore, it is possible that this node error indicates the
reason why the critical node error 550 A cluster cannot be formed because of a lack of
cluster resources is reported on the node or node canister.
Data:
- On Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, a number that indicates the
adapter location. Location 0 indicates the adapter that is integrated into the system board is being
reported.
- On Storwize V5000, Storwize V5000E, FlashSystem 5000, Storwize V5100, FlashSystem 5100, and SAN Volume Controller, a number that indicates the
adapter location. The location indicates an adapter slot. See the node or node canister description
for the definition of the adapter slot locations.
User response
- If possible, use the management GUI to
run the suggested actions for the associated service error code.
- On Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, use the procedures to restart
(physically remove and reseat) a node canister.
- On Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, because the adapter is on the
system board, replace the node canister by using the remove and replace procedures.
- On SAN Volume Controller, use the
remove and replace procedures to replace the adapter. If this procedure does not fix the problem,
replace the system board.
