Explanation
This error can occur when the HyperSwap® volume has
image mode copies.

User response
Convert the volume to a basic volume by removing one of the HyperSwap volume copies. Expand the size of the volume and then add a HyperSwap volume copy. 

Alternately, convert all image mode copies of the volume to a different volume type, and then
retry the command.
