Technician port for node access
.A technician port is available on the server to use a direct connection for installing and servicing support.
For information about how to determine which port to use as the technician port, see Technician port.
The technician port provides direct access to the service assistant GUI and command line interface (CLI). The technician port can be used by directly connecting a computer that has web browsing software and is configured for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) through a standard 1 Gbps Ethernet cable.
After
the Ethernet port of the personal computer is connected, open a supported browser and browse to
address http://service. (If you do not have DCHP, open a supported browser and go
to the following static IP address 192.168.0.1.
See the following information for how to access the CLI through the technician port. For other ways to access the CLI, see User interfaces for servicing your system.
To use the technician port, you must be next to the node. The technician port does not work if it is connected to an Ethernet switch.
If you have Secure Shell (SSH) software on the computer that is directly connected to the technician port, then you can use it to access the CLI as superuser at 192.168.0.1. The default superuser password is passw0rd.
