Fibre Channel port numbers: 2145-CG8 or 2145-CF8

The physical Fibre Channel port numbers are 1 - 4. To identify the port numbers, count from left to right as you view the back of a SAN Volume Controller 2145-CG8 or 2145-CF8 node.

For example, Figure 1 provides a rear view of the SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8 node. The node has a single slot that is fitted with a 4-port FC adapter. The port numbers are identified by callouts within the figure.

The worldwide node name (WWNN) has the following format; it is assigned during the manufacturing process.

The worldwide port numbers (WWPNs) are derived from the WWNN of the node in which the ports are installed. WWPNs have the following format. The Q value is related to the port number. The xxxx value is a unique number that was assigned when the node was manufactured.
