Sharing the IBM Enterprise Storage Server between a host and the SAN Volume Controller
The IBM® Enterprise Storage Server® can be shared between a host and a SAN Volume Controller.
The following restrictions apply when you share the IBM
Enterprise Storage Server between a host and a SAN Volume Controller:
- If an IBM Enterprise Storage Server port is in the same zone as a SAN Volume Controller port, do not put that same IBM Enterprise Storage Server port in the same zone as another host.
- A single host can have both IBM Enterprise Storage Server direct-attached and SAN Volume Controller virtualized disks that are configured to it.
- If a LUN is managed by the SAN Volume Controller, it cannot be mapped to another host.
