Supported cloud service providers
The system supports connections to various cloud service providers. Some cloud service providers require connections over external networks, and others can be created on a private network.
Each cloud service provider requires different configuration
options. The system supports the following cloud service providers:
- IBM® SoftLayer®
- The system can connect to IBM SoftLayer, a cloud service provider that is built on OpenStack object storage standards for cloud storage solutions. If you connect to this cloud service provider, you can create snapshots of volume data to public cloud storage.
- OpenStack Swift
- OpenStack Swift is a standard cloud computing architecture from which administrators can manage storage and networking resources in a single private cloud environment. Standard application programmable interfaces (APIs) can be used to build customizable solutions for a private cloud solution.
- Amazon S3
- Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) provides programmers and storage administrators with flexible and secure public cloud storage. Amazon S3 is also based on object storage standards and provides a web-based interface to manage, back up, and restore data over the web.
