SAN Volume Controller operating environment
To use the system, you must meet the minimum hardware and software requirements and ensure that other operating environment criteria are met.
Minimum requirements
You must set up your SAN Volume Controller operating environment according to the following requirements:
- At least one pair of SAN Volume Controller nodes
- A 19-inch rack in which to mount the enclosures
SAN Volume Controller 2145-SV1 node features
The SAN Volume Controller 2145-SV1 contains:
- At least one Fibre Channel adapter or one 10 Gbps Ethernet adapter
- Optional second, third, and fourth Fibre Channel adapters
- 64 - 256 GB memory
- Two eight-core processors
- Dual redundant power supplies
- Up to 20 SAN Volume Controller expansion enclosures to house optional SAS drives
- iSCSI host attachment (10 Gbps Ethernet) electrical and optional optical
- Support for optional IBM® Real-time Compression™
