Example of recommended rack locations for SAN Volume Controller nodes
This topic provides a possible approach to utilizing the rack locations for an eight-node SAN Volume Controller system.
Figure 1 illustrates an example physical rack location for an eight-node SAN Volume Controller system. The locations illustrated here follow best practices. An optional redundant AC power switch is installed for each node.
Note:
- The components are installed with the redundant AC power switches together at the bottom of the rack. The uninterruptible power supplies are together above the redundant AC power switches and the nodes are together above the uninterruptible power supplies.
- Spare locations have been left to provide an orderly means to run the cables run front to back, which connect to the nodes.
- Other components in the rack are recorded.
