Removing the cable-management arm: 2145-CG8 or 2145-CF8

You can remove the cable-management arm that routes and secures the power cables and other cables.

About this task

Figure 1 shows the items that you need to install the SAN Volume Controller 2145-CG8 or 2145-CF8 node in a rack.

To remove the cable-management arm, perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Remove all power from the node, as described in MAP 5350: Powering off a node.
  2. Disconnect all cables from the back of the node.
  3. Slide the node away from the back of the rack.
    1. Remove any optional M6 screws, as shown by  1  in Figure 2, from the front of the node.
    2. To release the node from the rack, press the orange release latches  2  and slide the node forward until it latches in the service position.

  4. Disconnect the power cords and other cables from the cable-management arm.
    1. Remove the cable ties or hook-and-loop fasteners.
    2. Free the cables and power cords from the cable-management arm, as shown by  1  in Figure 3.

  5. Remove the cable-management arm from the support arm.
    1. Remove the cable-management arm by pulling out both cable-management-arm pins while sliding the tabs out of the mounting location, as shown in Figure 4.
    2. Pull each cable-management-arm tab until it is free from the slide rail.

  6. At the rear of the rack, remove the cable-management-support arm.
    Pull the pin and remove each end of the cable-management-support arm from the slide rail, as shown by Figure 5.
