Vital product data (VPD) is information that uniquely records
each hardware and licensed-internal-code element in the nodes.
For each node, the VPD includes the following items:
- Installed software version
- Details of the hardware configuration
- Levels of the hardware
- FRU part numbers
- FRU microcode levels
- Firmware and software component levels
- VPD for the batteries that power the node. Only applies to SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 nodes.
- VPD for the uninterruptible power supply that powers the node. Only applies to SAN Volume Controller 2145-CG8
or 2145-CF8 nodes.
- Details of the system configuration
You can view the VPD through the management GUI or
command-line interface (CLI). The VPD is automatically updated by
the system when the configuration is changed.
