You can remove the air baffle on a SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 node.
Before you begin
DANGER
Multiple power cords. The product might be equipped with multiple
power cords. To remove all hazardous voltages, disconnect all power cords. (L003)
Take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity.
Wear an anti-static wrist strap and use a static-protected mat or
surface.
About this task
This service action assumes the following conditions:
- You are not operating the SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 without the air
baffle.
- The node is turned off. If you must turn off the node, ensure that hosts
will not lose access to data in volumes, as described in MAP 5350: Powering off a node.
- The power cables are disconnected.
- The top cover is removed.
To remove the air baffle, complete the following steps.
Procedure
- Read the safety information.
- Place your fingers under the front and back of the top of the air baffle. Then, lift the air
baffle out of the server, as shown in Figure 1.

Attention: To maintain cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before you turn on
the node. Operating the server with the air baffle removed might damage node components.
