You can remove either of the two hot-swap redundant power supplies in the SAN Volume Controller 2145-SV1 node. Redundant power
supplies operate in parallel, one continuing to power the node if the other fails.
Before you begin
DANGER
Multiple power cords. The product might be equipped with multiple
power cords. To remove all hazardous voltages, disconnect all power cords. (L003)
Ensure that you are aware of the procedures for handling static-sensitive devices before you
remove the power supply unit (PSU).
Procedure
- Read the safety information in Preparing to remove and replace parts.
- If only one power supply is installed, turn off the node and peripheral devices and disconnect
all power cords.
- If the node is in a rack, pull back the cable management arm to gain access to the rear of the
server and the power supply.
- Press and hold the release tab to the left. Figure 1
shows the release tab for power supply unit 1.

- Grasp the handle and pull the power supply out of the node, as shown in Figure 2.

- If you are instructed to return the power supply, follow all packaging instructions. Use any
packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
