Removing and replacing expansion enclosure parts

You can remove and replace parts to perform service procedures on expansion enclosures. Many procedures for replacing parts are also applicable during the initial installation process for the 2145-92F expansion enclosure.

About this task

All of the service procedures that refer to the SAN Volume Controller 2145-12F, 2145-24F , and 2145-92F expansion enclosures are also applicable to the 2147-12F, 2147-24F, and 2147-92F expansion enclosures.

The 2147-12F, 2147-24F, and 2147-92F expansion enclosures include Enterprise Class Support.

Removing and replacing support rails
You must install the support rails before you can place an expansion enclosure in a rack. You can also replace a faulty support rail, if needed.
Removing and replacing an expansion enclosure from a rack
You can remove and replace an expansion enclosure from a rack to apply service.
Removing and replacing the end caps: 2145-12F or 2145-24F
You can remove and replace the enclosure end caps from a SAN Volume Controller 2145-12F or 2145-24F expansion enclosure.
Removing and replacing the cable-management arm
You can remove and replace the cable-management arm (CMA) on a 2145-92F expansion enclosure. You can also move the CMA to the side to allow access to parts at the rear of the enclosure.
