Vital product data

Vital product data (VPD) is information that uniquely records each hardware and licensed-internal-code element in the nodes.

For each node, the VPD includes the following items:

Installed software version
Details of the hardware configuration
Levels of the hardware
FRU part numbers
FRU microcode levels
Firmware and software component levels
VPD for the batteries.
Details of the system configuration

You can view the VPD through the management GUI or command-line interface (CLI). The VPD is automatically updated by the system when the configuration is changed.
