Fibre Channel and Ethernet port numbers

Fibre Channel port numbers for the node vary, depending on which network adapters are installed, and in which slots.

The node has three expansion slots for adapters, as shown in the following figure.

The following table lists the expansion slots and the adapters that can be installed in each location.

Table 1. PCIe expansion slots in which an adapter can be used
PCIe expansion slot number Adapter
1 32 or 16 Gbps Fibre Channel adapter, or 25 Gbps Ethernet (RoCE) or 25 Gbps Ethernet (iWARP) adapter
2 32 or 16 Gbps Fibre Channel adapter, or 25 Gbps Ethernet (RoCE) or 25 Gbps Ethernet (iWARP) adapter
3 32 or 16 Gbps Fibre Channel adapter, or 25 Gbps Ethernet (RoCE) or 25 Gbps Ethernet (iWARP) adapter

The following figure shows the physical Fibre Channel port numbers if the maximum number of Fibre Channel adapters is installed.
