System operating environment requirements

To use the system, you must meet the minimum hardware and software requirements and ensure that other operating environment criteria are met.

Minimum requirements

You must set up your operating environment according to the following requirements:

  • At least one pair of system nodes
  • A 19-inch rack in which to mount the enclosures

SAN Volume Controller 2145-SV2 and 2145-SA2 node features

The system contains:
  • At least one Fibre Channel adapter
  • Optional second and third Fibre Channel adapters
  • 128 - 768 GB memory
  • Two 8-core (2145-SV2) or two 16-core (2145-SA2) processors
  • Dual redundant power supplies
  • Optional 25 Gbps Ethernet adapter
  • Support for optional IBM® Real-time Compression
