Fibre Channel port numbers: 2145-DH8
The Fibre Channel port numbers of a SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 node, as seen in the management GUI, depend on several factors. These factors include the number of Fibre Channel (FC) adapters that are fitted in the node, the PCIe expansion slots in which an FC adapter is fitted, and the number of ports on each FC adapter.
Different types of FC adapters can be installed on the system at the same time. For example, the system can be configured with a combination of 2-port 16 Gbps FC adapters, 4-port 8 Gbps FC adapters, and 4-port 16 Gbps FC adapters.
Each Fibre Channel adapter has either two or four ports. To identify the Fibre Channel port numbers, look at the back of the SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 node. The Fibre Channel port numbers are identified by counting from the left to the right on the first PCIe expansion slot that is fitted with an FC adapter. The FC port numbers then continue from left to right on to the next PCIe slot that is fitted with an FC adapter.
The following section shows various FC adapter configurations and port numbers, as viewed from the rear of the SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 node. The port numbers and PCIe slots are identified by callouts within each figure. To view information about the FC ports on your system, use the management GUI or the lsportfc command.

Legacy mode WWPN
In legacy mode, the
2145-DH8 node uses a WWNN value
(5005076801) that was previously assigned to an earlier generation node (for
example, a
2145-CG8
node).
