Removing the 240 VA safety cover: 2145-DH8
You can remove the 240 VA safety cover on a SAN Volume Controller 2145-DH8 node.
Before you begin

Take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity. Wear an anti-static wrist strap and use a static-protected mat or surface.
About this task
This service action assumes:
- The node is turned off. If you must turn off the node, ensure that hosts will not lose access to data in volumes, as described in MAP 5350: Powering off a node.
- The power cords and external cables are disconnected.
- The top cover is removed.
- The air baffle is removed.
- The PCI express rise-card assemblies are removed.

Procedure
- Read the safety information.
- Pull the server out of the rack.
- Disconnect the hard disk drive backplane power cables from the connector in front of the safety cover.
- Remove the screw from the safety cover.
- Slide the cover forward to disengage it from the system board, and then lift it out of the server, as shown in Figure 1.
- If you are instructed to return the 240 VA safety cover, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
