SAS port usage and status

Planning during the product placement phase includes considering the specific use of each SAS port.

SAS port usage

Table 1 lists the supported functions of the individual ports on the system.

Note: SAS port 1 is always the leftmost port no matter in which PCIe slot the SAS adapter is inserted.

The lsportsas command displays two attributes for each SAS port:

Attachment: what currently is attached to the port (values: none/host/enclosure).
Type: what the port can be attached to (values: host/enclosure).
