Storwize® V7000 2076-724/U7B
supports
migrating from iSCSI-attached hosts to iSER-attached hosts, and from iSER-attached hosts to
iSCSI-attached hosts. Either migration is non-disruptive.
Migrating from iSCSI to iSER-attached hosts
To migrate from iSCSI-attached hosts to iSER-attached hosts, your host must have 25 Gbps iSER
connectivity.
- Create iSCSI sessions on both nodes through the 25 Gbps ports by using the
command that is described in the Logging in to
discovered targets topic.
- Release the SCSI3 reservations over iSCSI.
- Log out of the iSCSI sessions on node2 by using the command in step 1 that is described in the Logging out from targets topic. The iSCSI
sessions on node1 must still exist.
- Create new iSER sessions on node2 by using the command that is described in the Logging in to discovered targets topic. It might take
up to 30 minutes for multipathing and I/O to stabilize.
- Log out of the iSCSI session on node1 by using the command that is described in the Logging out from targets topic. The iSER
sessions on node2 must still exist.
- Create new iSER sessions on node1 by using the command that is described in the Logging in to discovered targets topic.
