713 A SAS adapter is degraded.

Explanation

A SAS adapter is degraded. On Storwize® V5000, Storwize V5000E, FlashSystem 5000, Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, the adapter is on the node canister system board.

Data:
  • On SAN Volume Controller, IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud, and IBM Spectrum Virtualize, a number that indicates the adapter location. The location indicates an adapter slot. See the node description for the definition of the adapter slot locations.
  • On Storwize V5000, Storwize V5000E, FlashSystem 5000, Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, a number that indicates the adapter location. Location 0 indicates that the adapter that is integrated into the system board is being reported.

User response

  1. If possible, use the management GUI to run the suggested actions for the associated service error code.
  2. On Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, and FlashSystem 9200, use the procedures to restart (physically remove and reseat) a node canister.
  3. On Storwize V7000, FlashSystem 7200, FlashSystem 9100, FlashSystem 9200, Storwize V5000, Storwize V5000E, and FlashSystem 5000, replace the node canister by using the remove and replace procedures.
  4. On SAN Volume Controller, use the remove and replace procedures to replace the adapter. If this procedure does not fix the problem, replace the system board.
  5. On IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud and IBM Spectrum Virtualize, contact your hardware manufacturer.
